About Us

Design for How You Actually Live

Homemaker Insight was born from a simple frustration: most interior design advice looks beautiful in photos but falls apart in real life. The all‑white living room that shows every crumb. The open shelving that collects dust. The gorgeous sofa that’s unbearably hot to sit on in summer.

We decided to do something different.

We create interior design and lifestyle content that prioritizes how you actually live — not how a room looks for a single photograph. Messy families, hot afternoons, working from home, kids, pets, cooking, sleeping, Zoom calls, movie nights. That’s real life. And your home should handle all of it.

What We Cover

Room‑by‑Room Design

  • Living Rooms – Layouts that encourage conversation, fabrics that survive spills, furniture that doesn’t trap heat
  • Bedrooms – Cooling bedding, blackout options, layouts for better sleep, and upgrades that make a sanctuary
  • Home Offices – Ergonomics, screen glare reduction, quiet zones, and keeping the space comfortable without running central AC all day
  • Kitchens – Work triangles, storage solutions, lighting layers, and ventilation that actually removes heat
  • Bathrooms & Mudrooms – Often overlooked, but critical for daily flow

Interior Trends (That Actually Work)

We don’t chase every trend. We test them against real life. Minimalism? Yes, but with storage. Biophilic design? Beautiful, but let’s talk about plants that survive low light. Earth tones? Gorgeous, but they absorb heat — so here’s how to balance them.

Seasonal Comfort

Summer is the hardest season indoors. We help you design bedrooms that stay cool at night, home offices that don’t become saunas by 2 PM, and living rooms that feel fresh even without central air. From window treatments to fabric choices to supplemental cooling strategies — we cover it all.

Lifestyle Integration

Your home should support your life, not complicate it. We write about:

  • Organizing for real families (not Marie Kondo perfection)
  • Renovating without moving out
  • Making small spaces feel larger
  • Adding comfort to converted garages, finished attics, sunrooms, and additions without existing AC

Our Philosophy

Pretty is good. Comfortable is better. Both is the goal.

We believe interior design is a tool for better living — not just a way to impress guests. Every rug, curtain, paint color, and piece of furniture should make your day easier, not harder.

Who We Serve

  • Homeowners refreshing one room at a time
  • Renters working within landlord restrictions
  • Families who need durable, comfortable, attractive spaces
  • Anyone renovating a home without perfect cooling

Why Homemaker Insight?

Because we’re homemakers too. We test everything we recommend in our own homes — in summer, with kids, during workdays, on lazy weekends. If it survives our lives, it might survive yours.

Homemaker Insight — Design for real lives. Comfort in every room.
